About me

I am Carolyn, thirty-something-year-old mother of twins, I live in Scotland and I happen to like trees and woodlands. In 2017 I took the opportunity to buy some woodland with my husband, Jamie. It is now my mission to nurture the woodland back to prime health and vitality (and hopefully in the process to improve the health and vitality of myself and many others).

I decided to start a blog because I want to share my passion for woodlands: for the trees, plants, fungi, soil and all the creatures that reside in these places – and for forestry: for the art of manipulating these environments to produce useful materials. I plan to write about our experiences of managing Comar Wood to share our successes and failures, and to write pieces about all sorts of topics to do with woodland and forestry that are of interest to me (and hopefully you).
